Reading in Colour

Reading In Colour returns this October!

Join us this Black History Month as we explore Ayo’s Adventure Across the African Diaspora by Ain Heath Drew.

Follow Ayo on a vibrant journey across the African diaspora, discovering the traditions, stories and communities that connect people around the world. Through this engaging and beautifully illustrated story, children will explore themes of identity, culture, belonging and connection.

This Month’s Activity: The Threads That Make Us
Children will create a colourful woven artwork celebrating the unique things that make us who we are.

Reading In Colour is designed to encourage curiosity, creativity and meaningful conversations while celebrating books by Black authors.

Saturday 3rd October, 11am-12 noon, Sydenham Library – FREE ENTRY | Open to all ages | Just Drop In

If you already own a copy of Ayo’s Adventure Across the African Diaspora, bring it along! We’d love for children to follow along with the story and share their favourite parts.

Perfect for families with children who love stories, creativity and discovering new worlds through books.
